A friend of one of the girls at work, Nelson, is here from CA and he is going to make a guest spot at Tattoo Culture in Brooklyn on the 30th of Oct and 2nd of Nov.

work plus and minus
+ I'm being creative
+ I have an actual title and pretty cool art director
+ I'm coding but it's mostly in CSS so it's light
+ There's a guy that sits by me who is really chill and randomly burst into song to kill the silence, makes me chuckle (he's the IT guy - shocker)
+ There's a lot to do so the day goes by fast
+ My pretty cool art director has been in the London office for most of the time I've been here so far
- My pretty cool art director has been in the London office for most of the time I've been here so far
- The rest of the design team is in the UK
- Working with offices in the UK and Dubai, coming in at 8am is seen as normal not as 'putting in some extra effort'
- There isn't a lot of good food in this area, I might start bringing in my lunch.

be afraid
I've just gone to the DMV and picked up a drivers manual.
A little history, i HAVE a learners permit already but it's for a motorcycle (got it back when i had a lambretta..and then a vespa....). So i HAVE been on the road a tiny bit (maybe 2 hours total) with more than just my two feet moving me on. But a car...well, a car seems so much more intimidating.
Plus I'm 28. Learning to drive at 28! Sigh, i picture some horrible 80's movie type thing happening where i almost kill the tester guy by crashing into a school bus or something. Reminds me of when i learned to ride a bicycle. I was 24. (or was it 23?) Picture it... a grown woman on a bmx bike falling over and getting looks from adults and kids that screamed "is she slow or something?" How i envied those 10 year olds riding away like it was the simplest thing in the world. I'm good now though.. still get nervous around cars but i don't fall off. Yay me. heh
We'll see how long it takes me to actually get a permit and then the 5 hour course and all that. Life is hectic right now. But, sometime in the not too distant future I'll be on the road...driving...me...behind a wheel...

Oh, you know...just redesigning their entire events section.

For some reason the fact that i'm now getting paid to DESIGN is freaking me out. In a good way mostly. But there's also the whole "seriosuly.. i.. i get to design now?? really??" thing that keeps creeping up.
Day 4 and things are looking up..
Only down side so far...no AIM or MSN Messenger. Thats ok though, I still have blogger and gmail so i'll be able to ramble away.
