So, I've done it. I've gotten my new tattoo.
I've wanted to get a carnation for a while but was always stuck on the design. Just having a flower seemed too simple so I ended up going with carnation petals surrounded by a mehndi inspired design. It pulled it all together nicely i think, goes with the very symmetrical stamp-like look of my last piece..the chakana.

I don't know whether it was because of the fact that i could see what he was doing or the location but for some reason..OUCH. Seriously, ouuch. Thankfully i had gav and adalhi there chatting with me take my mind off it a bit. It actually also helped if i was looking at him do it. Oh, and 'he' is Patrick over at East Side Ink. He's awesome, go to him.

It's been a couple days and since the lines are so thin it's almost completely healed already. Woohoo!
